Arriving at the harbor of Rhodes you can catch the port bus that is free of charge and it will take you to the bus stop for the bus that goes to the centre of the island. From there, which is the terminal for all the coach buses of Rhodes (Rodos), you can use any bus to go anywhere you wish.
There is also a bus that runs schedules to and from the airport of the island.
The Municipality of Rhodes has specific bus schedules that are always on time and the buses are new and have air conditioning. A good idea is to be at the bus stop a few minutes earlier because there is not always traffic and the bus may arrive sooner than expected. Unfortunately there are no regular schedules for some areas of the island and that makes it a bit difficult to move from one place to the other.
You can get the list with the bus schedules from the kiosk at the terminal station in Rhodes or from the reception of your hotel. You usually have to buy a ticket from the bus driver if you are not at the terminal.
The island has many taxis that are blue and white at the top. The drivers are very friendly and the prices are standard.
In case you wish to tour the island by boat and visit beaches that have no access by car there are some every day boat trips to some of the island’s beaches.
The island of Rhodes is very large and if you wish to see it all you will definitely need a means of transport.
There are many companies that rent carsand motorbikes on Rhodes. Most hotels and rental rooms will be very happy to assist you in any way in order to find a vehicle to rent in reasonable prices.
